QA/QC Engineer

 

 

PPS is an engineering and project management firm based in Graz, specializing in turnkey services and spare parts for power plants and industrial plants. PPS manages complete plant shutdowns from start to finish: providing senior project managers, site supervisors, and lead engineers who execute projects with crews of up to 60 workers.

Our core business includes end-to-end management of plant shut-downs, supplying specialized spare and wear parts, and execution of complex modernization projects. Typical projects involve the redesign, fabrication, delivery and installation of boiler pressure parts such as membrane walls superheaters, economizers etc. on CFB/BFB and industrial boilers, as well as the comprehensive planning and execution of annual overhaul of complete boiler island including all mechanical auxiliary equipment.

We are looking for a dedicated professional to join us at the earliest possible start date:

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the quality process of company procedures and on projects from start to finish. From defining the quality requirements in the tender phase, to preparing the project quality manual and ITP, auditing manufacturing workshops and controlling fabrication quality and documentation and following up quality during installation works and preparing erection quality documentation and project close. 
  • Project management for welding projects: project schedule management, planning technical activities, generating project reports, and executing PO’s. 
  • Support customers and suppliers during plant shutdowns and daily operations on quality issues. 
  • Technical clarification with clients and NoBo, as well as preparing specifications and quality documents. 
  • Assistance in cost estimation and risk analysis for quotes. 
  • Hands-on involvement during plant shutdowns and installation supervision. 
  • On-site deployments accounting for up to approximately 30% of working time, primarily in Germany.

Your Profile

  • Degree from a Higher Technical Institute (HTL) or University of Technology in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent. 
  • International or European Welding Engineer Certification. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a QA/QC role in a fabrication environment. 
  • Experience with the following are a plus: boilers from big OEMs (e.g. Andritz, Valmet, Sumitomo, B&W, GE, Doosan Lentjes), paper and pulp industry, high pressure steam piping. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Motivated to improve the quality processes and help the business grow. 
  • Willingness to travel. 
  • Located in the Greater Graz area or willing to relocate. 
  • Professional working proficiency in both German and English, any additional languages are a plus.

Minimum monthly gross salary according to the collective agreement (Kollektivvertrag Angestellte des Metallgewerbes) on a full-time basis is €3,415.01 (excl. allowances) with a readiness for overpayment depending on your qualifications and professional experience.
